My 2 cents - They liked Jacobs, but like Sulpizio a lot less, especially after his denial that QCOM were grooming the Infra division for sale in February, then selling it in March.

Journalists don't like being made a fool of.

I disagree with the premise. In general, the Union-Tribune is slightly positive on Qualcomm. This is not to say that they would not print an opposing point of view if it was newsworthy, as this case seems to be. One of the major reasons I started following QCOM 3 years ago was all the times Qualcomm got mentioned in the local paper.
I also have not detected any resentment about the renaming of Jack Murphy Stadium to Qualcomm Stadium. The stadium is commonly referred to by the local media (radio, TV, and print) as "the Q". Remember, the city needed $18 million for improvements to the stadium, and this was going to come from the city (i.e. the taxpayers), and was extremely controversial. We are talking about front page, lead story on the nightly news controversial. Qualcomm stepped in with the offer to give the $18Million for naming rights to the stadium for a number of years. Worked out well for everyone.

Great Investing to all,

Steve
