Come on now, Uncle Frank, you know this Broadband game better than that...

1) I think broadband access has established the fact that it's currently in a "Tornado". So I will not sweat that point.

2) As far as broadband access through HFC to the home is concerned, ATHM, through its relationship with AT&T and Comcast and its ultimate merger with RR (get over it, this will happen eventually), will eventually have a lock on this market. AT&T will not bring in additional platforms to compete with ATHM unless the regulators force the issue. AOL and the other ISPs will have access to AT&T's pipe, but consumers will have to subscribe to ATHM as well as any additional service they may want.

To me folks, ATHM , with AT&T's support, has the potential for Gorilladom in this broadband sector of the market. I am not suggesting that there will not be other competing broadband services. But IMHO, ATHM will get there first and gobble up a majority of the market before the competition knows what hit them.

FYI, I am still working on the "discontinuous innovation" part of my argument!!!!!
