RTev (and Thread), In retrospect, I agree with you. I was thinking of maybe flagging some of the more questionable items, and pointing them to a tutorial section on the web. But the logistics of doing something like that, as well as the propriety, would be burdensome and questionable, like you say. I'll just do a blanket errata addressing common misconceptions (including some which I myself have perpetuated until recently) maybe accompanied by some good links to primers. Stay tuned... My experience with @Home... Positive! Got my RCA Cable modem installed today and it went very smooth. Cable modem guy loaded up the software, plugged in the modem and bam I'm in! Sure he had to split and route the cable but no big deal there. This is damn impressive compared to what I've dealt with the phone company and ISDN. Also my brother uses DSL and is still going through hell in getting his billing straightened out. Im my mind there is no comparison because for one thing there are so many potential problems in getting a DSL or ISDN line installed. Haven't had much time to play yet but I was getting one meg in twenty seconds for a download. I've heard of faster times than that but I'm not complaining! Much faster than my brothers DSL line.
