Is there anyone out there who does not think that (a) AMAT will beat the estimates by a large number (b) they will make positive comments like "we are in the begining of a multi-year up cycle..." and (c) will report an above industry (i.e. > 1.3) book-to-bill number? I don't think so. So the real question is how much of this good news is built into the stock and how good of a quarter can AMAT be really having. Your guess is better than mine <g>.

It is always bad when they have an expectation for higher earnings and the general public is constantly be advised the the higher number is expected and even higher should happen... Hold for the earnings if you believe they are going to be in the 32 to 40 cents range.

I perfer the charts... This thing is in a major downtrend,, and the making of lower lows and lower highs is written on the charts.

Now throw in the highest possible expectations and publicly post as the analyst have been doing and you have no and I repeat NO surprise if the earnings are better than expected.
