I haven't seen any news either confirming or denying this rumor, the way I look at it if he leaves he leaves, it is not like the company's fortune depends on him or anything. He was supposed to retire anyway in a few years.

Re: Saw a frightening report that Kevin Rollins may be considered for the CPQ CEO..

Where did you see this report?

I wouldn't be surprised if Rosen is aggressively pursuing him
nor would I be surprised if Kevin accepted. Mr. Rollins is
already ultra wealthy. Maybe this challenge would fulfill
Mazlow's 5th level in the hierarchy of needs for him...
self actualization, guaranteed failure... or something along
those lines.

Regardless, I certainly hope this does not happen. I would
hate to see a co-developer, someone sooo familiar with the
intricacies of Dell's model defect over enemy lines.

Then again, maybe he knows it would be an nearly impossible task
to fix CPQ and he's too smart to set himself up for failure.

I believe only two things could keep him at Dell if offered the
position. Loyalty and fear of failure. Then again, guys like
Rollins don't usually achieve their level of success without taking risks.

Time will tell....
