I drove a lot of the Columbia River Gorge. I had been to Couer d'Alene, Idaho, and drove down the gorge to Portland. It's not your usual river vista.

A young cousin of mine kayaked the length of the Columbia. Took the kayak through the locks like it was some ocean going barge.
