(a lurker emerges)

Actually, I do not believe the TYX will close below 57.17 any time soon. In fact, several indicators I use (admittedly they were developed with stocks in mind) point to potentially strong moves in the immediate future.

I often use time series forecast (89 days) as an adjunct to other forms of support, resistance and trend lines. If valid for this point in time, TSF89 deliniates rather nicely recent resistance (now support). TSF21 crossed up through TSF89 today and this is often a useful signal (requiring confirmation) of a more sustained move.

Two days hence I think we'll know for sure.

Michael

Today's bounce in the TYX was helped by Fed coupon passes and some short covering. I still think the trend in yields is up.

Chris, we have an interesting threshold left in the a-d line:

there is a horizontal line in the a-d line from the 9/23/98 peak,
to the 12/14/98 bottom to the 1/14/99 bottom.

We are 998 net advances from the 12/14/98 bottom.

If we were to take that one out (and go above zero in the 1% ema of a-d) that could change the picture significantly.

But, if she stall here.....
