"Telcos are confused," Melnyk said. "They don't understand content. . . . So the integrator has to be pretty broad in their solution set to bring value to the telco. You can sell hardware to telcos, and servers and software products. But unless the telco has the vision or the leadership to understand that they have to bundle services to their customer, that they have to provide dial-tone-like simplicity, then it's a hard nut to crack."
