cm - PCFree

"In addition, they hope to distribute 50 million PCs by the end of next year "

Its quite obvious that a small company like PCFree could never pull off sales volume like that on their own. There must be other players involved, the likes of an AOL or Compaq. My money is on AOL, the marketing musclehead of the world.

This story gets more intriguing by the SMOment.

Connecting Dots...

** AOL invests in WAVX. Fact. On the open market, no less.
** PCFreeComputers.com will incorporate WAVX... Fact. (Well, I take the CEO's word as fact.)
** PCFreeComputers.com will have a $39 per month charge for ISP service. Fact. (Taken from their Web site.)
** They will also offer free color printers. (Gee, I wonder if they might be HP color printers. That's speculation.)
** It was rumored earlier this year that AOL was contemplating giving away free PCs in exchange for monthly ISP fees.
** PCFreeComputers.com has a link to Red Hat. Fact. And says they will support Red Hat & by extension Linux.
** Now, we get the news.com speculation about some sort of device from AOL that has Red Hat Linux, thus circumventing Microsoft.
Fact.

Interesting facts, no? Best Regards,
