Interesting Post! Thanks! I really don't know about the American market! If there are folks switching I'm really glad. For my part I can only tell you about the German market. It's extremely competitive and I must admit I don't know a single person that's using AOL. Deutsche Telekom still has the monopoly on phone lines, it's not really deregulated still (at least in the INet-sector) so AOL can't really compete. There are a few other players on the German market and I don't see any of them gaining some kind of share. It seems to be only on price. I know some friends and there switching like crazy. Same with me. I'm now with my local telephone provider 'cause it's the cheapest and I have ISDN on top. ADSL will only start in June in selected large cities. Why am I telling you all oft this? To me it looks like AOL can push in some more markets if they can offer some kind of special connection. S. Case should really have sth in mind because once you're able to have a connection for a fixed fee he must offer sth to keep subscribers. Let's see how it plays out. Hope he plays out the successful American strategy. We'll see. LONG AOL big time. My largest after DELL!

P.S. Of course, look where the techs have gone since Greenspan made that fateful utterance.
