Doug, you're right on. Anybody following gold can see the politicos, i.e. IMF, Clinton, Switzerland, Brown falling over themselves to block a rise in the price of gold. Brown played America's puppet on Friday in his announcement. The good side is that little Britain's tonnage has now been factored in -- and Brown won't be able to play the card again. The politicos are running out of cards. And when the cards run out, the POG is going to go up like a rocket. Straight up. It'll be interesting to see what next desperate measure the politicos play in their increasingly futile attempt to keep the POG low. I thought that the gold traders would see through Brown and not lower the POG, but they seem to have gotten cold feet. The Globe&Mail reported that inflation is returning, which should be very good indeed for the POG.
