What do you think would happen if the as old as chemistry dream of alchemist
would come true and we could make cheaply gold from lead?

The operative word is "cheaply". I think we could make gold a molecule at a time with some Particle accelerator but the cost would be prohibitive. Diamonds are more affordable or at least the cost per gram is closer. That's my #2 reason why I am investing in silver. If they can make diamonds and gold, they can make silver, but the cost is so low that it will never be affordable.

Using the word "never" just got me thinking. What if you had a microduplicator that worked just as easy as a microwave that could duplicate identical molecular structure of any object. You could put in a gold bar, or a stack of 100 dollar bills, or a picture of the Mona Lisa, and it would produce a duplicate, Identical down to the atom????? Got e-bucks?
