With the Street.com's IPO tomorrow, the entire "Internet" segment will be hot tomorrow, assuming that the overseas markets are not crashed.

Finet Rises 24% on Hopes for Agreement With Xoom.com (Update1)

Finet Rises 24% on Hopes for Agreement With Xoom.com (Update1) (Updates with closing share prices.)
Walnut Creek, California, May 10 (Bloomberg) -- Finet Holdings Corp. shares rose 24 percent on expectations that the Internet mortgage broker will announce a wider alliance with Xoom.com Inc., which agreed to combine with some of General Electric Co.'s Internet assets.

Finet Holdings, which lets users shop for home loans over the Internet, rose 1 3/4 to 9 1/8 in trading of 4.89 million shares

Walnut Creek, California-based Finet already advertises its Interloan service on Xoom.com's home page. Xoom.com, which offers free Internet services such as personal Web pages and e-mail, agreed to merge with the Internet assets of GE's NBC television network, a move that should broaden Xoom.com's audience. Finet Holdings is on the verge of announcing an unspecified agreement with Xoom.com, said Dan Rawitch, Finet's president. ''We're very close,'' Rawitch said. ''We're just not quite there in terms of the announcement.''
