lml, I think it might be more than that. I know they are installing HLIT MetroDWDM systems. I have heard from engineers, that they are planning on video and internet applications in Florida. I think they are planning on using South Florida as a test bed for VDSL. BLS is very aggressive, they are using 2-way MMDS all over Central Florida. They are using CAMP's 2-way sectorized, cross polarized systems here, not laying fiber. I think they are testing different scenarios. I looks like SF is going to have FTTC very soon due to the density and affluence of the area. Remember, the winter months the population swells close to 10 million in a very small area. That alone can pay the bill for MetroDWDM and VDSL. Central Florida does not have the population density, even in Orlando. Central Florida is way to spread out and it would be uneconomical. They have advertisments all over Central Florida about their MMDS/MDS systems. I talked with an engineer, and they are extremely happy with it. I did not think it would happen as quickly as he said, but I can get digital 2-way internet and TV here right now.
