"AOL should step up to the table & negotiate an equitable deal with T for the delivery of direct AOL access over T's plant that it has & will make a huge investment in. Steve wants access to T's pipes; Michael wants access to AOL's customers. I think a deal can be struck. The only problem is that, presently, Steve is demanding a free lunch from Congress. Time for Steve to get real. JMO."

he will - i look for a deal by the end of the year. T's stock will surge on the deal - not to mention @Home's!! The problem is T's insistance that the subscriber buy @Home's service whether they want it or not. AOL has a real problem with this and is fearful of @Home's filtering power.

lml,

Couldn't agree wit you more. It's not only AOL that is in tough predicament but all the portals as well.

Who makes the xDSL equipment (modems, splitters...) anyway ? maybe that's the way to play it ?

Ahmad

lml,, A few questions.

1) What are the limitations with HFC and local telephony (if any)

2) What take rate should T expect on local phone service

3) I work for one of the RBOCs. I don't think this company understands how to compete. They aren't expecting T to take any access lines. I personnaly think we are going to get our butts kicked.
