KANATA, Ontario and FOLSOM, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 3,
1999--CROSSKEYS (Nasdaq:CKEY.O) (TSE:CKY.) Solution will combine OSI's
NetExpert(R) framework and management applications with CrossKeys
Resolve(R) performance and SLA management software

Objective Systems Integrators (Nasdaq:OSII.O) and CrossKeys
Systems Corporation (Nasdaq:CKEY.O) (TSE:CKY) today announced a
partnership to provide an integrated network, process and SLA
(service-level agreement) management solution for carrier-class
service providers worldwide. The partnership includes joint marketing
of the OSI NetExpert(R)-series of network and process management
products with CrossKeys Resolve(R) service and network performance
management software. This complete solution responds to the industry's
requirement for best-of-breed applications that work together
seamlessly.
"We deploy both OSI's NetExpert and CrossKeys Resolve, and
believe there is distinct value in having these two industry-leading
products integrated for an overall solution offering," said Albert Ng,
Senior Vice-President of Engineering with Maryland-based e.spire.
"Having best of breed solutions working together as a coordinated
solution will mean more effective network management and better
service to the business customer."
The combined OSI-CrossKeys solution builds on both companies'
demonstrated expertise in managing networks with multiple vendors'
equipment and carrying a range of technologies (e.g., ATM, IP and
Frame Relay). Service providers deploying this integrated solution
gain complete control of their network operations-regardless of
vendor-and ensure that all network activity can be seen from the
customer's perspective. This means a service provider can confidently
provide competitive SLAs and make network decisions that factor in
customer impact and sales opportunities.
"This solution gives service providers customer-specific SLA
management coupled with the ability to automate the appropriate
response in the network, such as rerouting traffic or increasing
bandwidth. This moves the industry from reactive to genuinely
proactive performance management for the customer," said Chris Simon,
OSI Vice President of Global Product Marketing. "Service providers can
now offer a truly automated SLA solution."
Using NetExpert as the unified architecture, OSI's fault and
configuration management applications in conjunction with CrossKeys
Resolve performance management, correlate data, events, and customer
information-establishing the decision criteria to perform automated
service level management.
"This partnership with OSI delivers one of the most in-demand
features in performance management-automated SLA management," said Ian
McLaren, President and Chief Executive Officer, CrossKeys. "OSI and
CrossKeys share the common focus of addressing network management
issues for the carrier-class service provider. By jointly marketing
our coordinated solution, with its unparalleled scalability and
flexibility, we can open up new markets for both companies."
The solution employs OSI's Unified Management Architecture (UMA)
as the basis to integrate the respective software products. OSI's UMA
manages these converging technology systems for automated service
delivery, assurance, and usage functions. CrossKeys Resolve software
manages data from ATM, IP, frame relay services and reports on
differentiated service quality and network performance. An integrated
management system with this span of control allows service providers
to offer high quality, innovative services.
