Sam, Disclosure (long AOL). I agree that quotes like "shorting this pig" are certainly inflammatory and are used by folks wishing to instill fear and drive the stock lower. However, if you're long-term bullish on the stock, it may be prudent to buy a put to protect your long position if you're 100 points in the black on a stock with significant volatility. Not all shorts are long-term bears. JMHO. Good trading. JF3
