A minority of people have DIY Superannuation as it is called becuase the paperwork etc. is a headache and not all employers would allow it - mine doesn't. Most currently only have the one fund they pay to. The current government is trying to give more choice to employees. One current issue is small businesses who invest the compulsory superannuation money in their own premises.... DIY superfunds can't borrow. But they can invest in managed funds that do - hence these are appearing and some derivative products called installment warrants which are basically packaged margin loans on a single share - a low geared warrant.
