History:
- Spun off of ITT and became publically held in 1990.
- Original Corinth MS facility built in 1961 offers
350,000 square feet of manufacturing space and
provides full plastic injection molding, fixture
tooling, screen rooms for RF (wireless) testing,
SMT and ball-grid array assembly and testing.
- Corinth MS facility is just over an hour's drive from
Federal Express' Memphis hub and UPS' Nashville hub
enabling inexpensive overnight delivery in North America.
- In 1996, moved to new HQ in Santa Clara CA which
has 75,000 square feet of manufacturing space.
- Currently, CMC has over 526,000 square feet of
manufacturing space and something like 1300 employees.
- Has won various customer quality awards including:
o IBM's Continuous Supplier Award
o AT&T's Silver Supplier Award
o HP's Distinguished Supplier Award
o Micron's Top Ten Supplier Award
o Harris' Supplier Achievement Award

Recently Opened Facilities:
- Taipei, Taiwan (opened Fall 1997)
o purchasing office
- Hermosillo Mexico (opened Spring 1998)
o initially 55,000 square feet of manufacturing space.
o expanded with $3.7M private placement of 650,000 shares.
o currently 101,500 square feet total manufacturing space (August 1998)
o full SMT assembly plus complete system integration, test + box build.

Customers:
- Premisys Corporation
o CMC's Mississippi facility is Premisys' primary EMS provider.
o Premisys makes integrated voice/data/video access solutions for
telecommunications service providers.
- Williams Electronics
o CMC provides prototyping, materials procurement and management,
PCB assembly and test, and repair/rework services to Williams.
o Williams makes coin-operated and home video games, pinball machines,
video lottery terminals, gaming devices, and video arcade games for
its affiliated companies, Midway Games, and Atari Games Corporation.
- Next Level Communications (NLC)
o New (June 1998) contract expected to generate $100M revenue for CMC.
o CMC makes NLC's "N3 Resdential Gateway" which is an xDSL set-top box.
- Harris Corporation
o Harris has been a CMC customer for over 6 years.
o In February 1999, gave CMC a "Next Level Supplier Alliance Quality Award
for 1998" which recognizes CMC for their outstanding product quality.
o In February 1999, selected CMC to provide EMS for the paging products
made by Harris' Communications Products Division in Camarillo CA.

Revenue:
6 months ended 31 January 1998: $179,047,000.
6 months ended 31 January 1999: $148,314,000.

Primary reason for lower sales was an "insourcing" decision
by one box-build customer; excluding this one project, they
say their "core" sales grew 37% between these periods.
