Joe and all, some competition coming "IBM, HP, Seagate work on storage format"

International Business Machines Corp. and Hewlett-Packard Co. are
teaming with Seagate Technology Inc. to push a new tape-storage
format in hopes of meeting some of the growing storage demands of
the Internet. The potent trio could pose a major threat to the leader in
the $2 billion tape storage market, Quantum Corp. Tape storage
systems can currently hold as much as 40 gigabytes of data on one
cartridge, and their capacity is expected to grow rapidly.
