INTC cut their cap spending in half from the previous $4 billions

Stefan, I was unaware that INTC has changed their CapEx forecast from $3.0bn (with a bias to equipment versus bricks and mortar)to $2.0Bn (one half of $4.0bn)??? [N.B., A $4.0bn that included $475mm for DEC assets ... ]

They should update their web site (http://www.intel.com/pressroom/archive/releases/cn041399.htm) ...

Stefan,

You are right as to the communication sector still doing well but uP are not doing well.

Intel is on track to do $7 billion in sales this quarter, +/-. That's up $1 billion YOY. That's not doing well? I wish I could do not so well!!!!!!!!!!!!!

INTC cut their cap spending in half from the previous $4 billions.

They cut it a quarter, from $4B to $3B. Take that to the bank.

Do you recall what was the consensus estimate in '97 for the industry growth in '98 and
'99.

Seems a little thing called Asia caught a cold.

Man, this is too easy.
