Scott, regarding AOL and the RBOCs:

I do not underestimate AOL. I am a substantial shareholder and will continue to maintain this investment. Regardless of my beliefs in the value of its GUI and marketing power, AOL missed the boat on broadband access so far. The ROBC's are slow and lazy. I have dealt with them firsthand. Its a fact. The only reason why the cable MSOs are actually moving forward is 100% due to AT&T. That's another fact.

I am not going to get into the merits of DSL vs HFC. There are plenty of other Boards where individuals much smarter than I can explain the merits and disadvantages of each. It's safe to say that cable HFC has an advantage and will reach early stage victories in the next few years. DSL will have a place however. If you want to get technical answers to technical questions, try reading here for a while and get back to me:

I have gone through this exercise too many times. I am just too tired to go through it again right now.

For the record, I am long AOL.
