The reason is that their IS is part of the customer advocacy department and is a profit center, their IS develops the entire e commerce apps...which we all know accounts for approx 85% of all their orders. IS stratergy has been a big success for cisco.

Howard, you sound like an LU guy -- why not join our team and root for both?

HB, why don't you LU guys calm down and relax man! It's like owning a Lexus and telling the guy with the Infinity that his car sucks! I own both LU and CSCO and made a fortune on both! What's wrong with that? Learn to live with CSCO's success, they'll be a force for years to come along with LU! This ain't the Dodgers and Giants rivalry, it's the stock market!

Sounds like CSCO is terribly inefficient (I know that they are from several people I know there).

That's odd. I know several people at CSCO and I know that they are very efficient.

Sounds like CSCO is terribly inefficient (I know that they are from several people I
know there). Their IS budget is larger than their R&D budget (and growing).

Inefficient? What an uninformed post. Geezus!!!! Can't you at least check the data before you make such a boneheaded post.... Did you look at revenue per employee. Damn... I can't take much more of the stupidity on SI.
