<<Unfortunately, these shareholder suits benefit nobody but the lawyers.>>

I disagree. Sad to say, this suit looks sound. If nothing else, it will have an appropriately punitive and instructive effect. In the future, these birds will think twice before engaging in such self-dealing while lying to their investors that all is well.

Dougboy: I hate lawsuits also, it is a no win situation for 3COM shareholders. Lawyers win no matter what happens in the case. Anyway, Don't feel bad, I am one of those who bought with all the positive comments from EricB & the company. I bought at 49, 45, and 39.
I did not hear Eric's comments on over valuation at $50. Now,My question is.... What the hell valuation was the stock at $80 a couple of years ago and why didn't he say something then??? My direct reply to EricB is: EricB wrong answer- wrong answer EricB !!!! Now, if I were a 3COM Board of Directors and heard my CEO make a statement like that, I would have fired him/her..... . ((( Was there was a hidden agenda w/the board???))). Next, question and real problem is... Did the Board of Directors do the same thing? The answer is yes - at least one of them did. In short, the good old boy system really works and circumstances outlined by the lawsuit are to the point and accurate. Nonetheless, I am still a believer in the company's future.

I am hoping for the stock to recover in the $40s for this lawsuit to stop before the negative consequences. Still long w/COMS.
