dave and mile,
if you are into this phone thing. you should look at general magic's portico (gmgc) which is being tested right now by qwest, intuit, southern bell and 7 or 8 other very large co.s and telcos.
portico does everything dave said and a lot more...results of qwest test due. southern bell has accepted the tech and is doing a market test for consumer acceptability. i got a small position here a while back. doubled in last month. potential got my attention.

Dave,

I posted to you because we had a little debate going on regarding the re-advent (is that a word?) of the dumb NC. I keep reading more and more about this and other devices that are going to be more application specific and meet user specific needs rather than the unwieldy full MS OS that most people do not utilize fully.

I was not saying that the US West/QCOM thin phone is the answer. It is just, IMO, further evidence that MSFT better be ready to deploy a stripped down version of their fully loaded OS system. MSFT already knows this and it is the reason they are throwing money at anyone who will deploy their CE OS....

Again, I think Ellison's idea was a bit ahead it's time...There is a nice article in thestreet.com about these ideas. Check it out.

Regards,

MileHigh
