C.E. Unterberg to Host Internet Advertising Conference Tomorrow

New York, May 11 (Bloomberg) -- C.E. Unterberg, Towbin, a New York-based securities firm, will host an Internet advertising conference tomorrow, featuring 20 online marketing companies.

DoubleClick Inc., EarthWeb Inc., AdForce Inc., 24/7 Media Inc., Modem Media. Poppe Tyson Inc., and NetGravity Inc. are among the companies scheduled to take part in the event.

The Bloomberg US Internet Index has nearly doubled this year amid investor optimism for the new medium. Online advertising and marketing spending is expected to exceed $31 billion in 2002, up from $6.2 billion last year, Tara Long, an analyst at C.E. Unterberg, Towbin, wrote in a research report.''The industry will experience robust demand, as marketers recognize the Internet as a highly effective means of reaching consumers,'' said Long, who tracks Internet marketing and advertising companies.

EMarketing 1999 will be held at the Palace Hotel in New York.
