Before you get too bullish on techs, many I watch saw nice rises today but on lower volume. DELL was one of the culprits trading half volume. AOL did have good volume but most of it was in the first half of the day with it drying up as the bond dropped raising the rate.

No charts till later but I would be more bullish if there was some volume to accompany these moves up. Can't say I blame them sicne I am afraid to take a position myself until the CPI/PPI data is released. If I had brass kahones I would buy up some calls and pray for a good report but I am old and shrivelled. <ggg>

Still I have to admit many of the online charts I looked at tonight do have nice patterns disregarding the lack of volume. I am sure Don will metion it but the obvious DOW drop with the NASDAQ's rise shows that we are still robbing Peter to pay Paul. Not much new moneycoming in to the market, just recycling the old stuff still.

Will know more when the charts are done in a few hours.

Good Luck,

Lee

PS - Anyone have any idea what level the CPI/PPI numbers will affect us to the downside? Seems with all this worry, by the time the reports come out, it may be factored into the market already and there could be an up move even if they are slightly bad showing inflation. Now that we know productivity went up .4%, anyone have the model that says how much the still to be reported indexes can rise and still balence out? That one is way over my head.

BB,
Re: CPQ

Two gaps on that chart. Don't you want to wait for the 3rd?
