Herm and thread,

I have to agree with the two old hands about CCing versus naked put writing. For better or worse, most brokers have account minimums for naked options (particularly calls, but they can't be bothered to make the distinction, it seems). In the case of AmeriTrade, my current broker, it is 50K. Some of us don't have this kind of dough. When I do, which will be in a couple of months, I intend to start doing some naked put writing. Perhaps I'll use it as an entry method into a stock I want to CC, then graduate to just doing some naked put writing.

In any case, there doesn't seem to be an active thread on the subject, and I am thinking of starting one. Those interested may send me a private message. If it looks like enough folks are game, I'll start one.

Cheers, Tuck
