Interesting because although RMBS has not pissed many people off (at least I don't think so) one of the points I have made in the past is that when a free and functional advanced DRAM architecture is available, then RMBS will have its' work cut out for them, IMO.

There's no 'free' equivilent of Rambus on the horizon, since SLDRAM was abandoned. So things are a little simpler than they were a few months ago.

However, it's increasingly clear that Rambus can't replace SDRAM (and evolutions thereof) for PC main memory in the short term. So what is Intel going to do? That's the drama. (I've said before that I think Intel will capitulate and support PC133).

100% agree. Any company that doesn't consider it's customers its most important asset is heading for a fall as soon as a good competitive alternative comes out.
