Yo guree, I'm here and watching to see if gold can break resistance at 280...if not then maybe down agin.

I may have to switch and go long tomorrow as the commercials may be way long again here shortly. They seem to think yesterday was a buying opportunity...yellow stuff on blue light special. -g-

Impressionist auction brings in $55.6 million
NEW YORK, May 11 (Reuters) - Two works by Impressionist Claude Monet fetched more than $21 million on Tuesday at an art auction at Sotheby's that took in a total of $55.6 million.

An anonymous bidder bought Monet's ''Meule'' for $11,992,500, including the auction house's premium and was the evening's top lot. It had a pre-sale estimate of $8 million to $12 million.

Another Monet, ''Waterloo Bridge Effet de Brouillard,'' far exceeded its high estimate of $6 million, fetching $9,352,500. It also went to an anonymous buyer.

Works by Renoir, Cezanne, Picasso and Van Gogh were among the other top lots. A Renoir, ''Les Rosiers a Wargemont,'' sold for $6,162,500. Its high pre-sale estimate was $4 million.

On Monday, Cezanne's ''Still Life with Curtain, Pitcher and Bowl of Fruit'' fetched more than $60.5 million at Sotheby's. It was the fourth highest price ever paid for a painting at auction.
