Richard L., I believe that the big boys are waiting for JMAR to produce the point source with commercially useable power levels. JMAR is not quite there yet. So no takeover yet. But, JMAR has said that they expect to reach 24-30 watts within a month or two (see LA Times article). This is commercially feasible. Early next year, they should be up to 90 watts and then continue increasing the power levels as time goes on. So at each increase of power levels you increase the number of applications. Watch and see if anything happens when they hit 30 watts early Summer.
