Newsweek issue May 17,1999 has a very interesting article about the ATT takeover of Media One. "Bell of the Brawl", couple mentions of ATHM, couple of broadband, several about AOL. I think this qualifies as a non spam post....lol

In an attempt to do what I said I would do, with respect to clarifying some distortions and myths, I used one of Hiram Walker's posts as the medium to both answer some of his questions, and at the same time paint a long litany of cable modem architectural issues.

This, combined with my earlier VoIP over cable post this evening, should bring me close to where I want to be on this issue for the time being.

Some more needs to be said about a whole slew of topics, the nature of HFC, in particular, but this should do it for now.

Please go to the link below, and come back here with questions, criticisms, comments and corrections. It's all about a learning process.
