Anyone think Rosen want to play Steve Jobs role ? He might just continue the current situation as is and trim and adjust according to his will. I believe he is a smart guy and may be executing his plan right now..

Would you prefer the word"fired"?

>Also these executive resignations are not a good sign.

You view 5ffer's 'resignation' as a bad sign?
(Anyway, these are actually firings, not resignations. 5ffers's 'house' is being cleared for the new CEO)

Tae--- I disagree. The housecleaning puts fresh blood into the new CEOs upper mgmt. With luck he/she will be able to name or have input on some replacements.
This type of move often is a wake up call to any border line employees also. How much deadwood has accumulated and was not noticed just because it was "always like that".

With all due respect Tae, CPQ is due a change in leadership. EP and team did a sterling job growing the company but has been unable to change the strategic direction.

A strategic change is absolutely necessary to continue moving forward and to increase revenue.

Just look at shrinking margins in the PC business as one small example... Profit has to come from somewhere, so change the nature of the business to a more service revenue oriented model. EP and team recognised this but were unable to execute for various reasons which have been covered ad nauseum on this thread.

I think a shake up of the leadership is EXACTLY what we need now and view it as extremely positive.

In addition, in an earlier post, you referred to CPQ "trying to catch up to Dell". The two companies are completely different! So the catch up point is totally moot. Have a close look at the new distribution model announced on Monday. It is NOT a direct model...

I think Rosen et al are setting the scene for a strategically changed CPQ. They are experienced and will know how to set this company up for sustained long term growth. Having said that, I also think that we will see continued volatility in the share for a while. Short term traders heaven!
