Me... Your Friendly NYT Content Aggregator...

Well, the Times has a wonderful article this morning detailing the AOL vs. Microsoft fight. This fight is taking AOL to all the Baby Bells... in its quest of the fat pipe. Intriguing, as well, is the note that there could be a rapprochement between the two warring parties if MSFT's WebTV would carry AOL. Not counting on peace pipe smoke any time soon, though. (Remember, though some of the old Netscape guard have fled since AOL gobbled'em up, there are bound to be enough Mozilla radicals around to stoke the flames of MSFT hatred.)

As of today's premature PC Free release, we now have one explanation for some relatively obscure language and an old phone visual on PC Free's humble Web site. PC Free kept using the "utility" word. Their thing--is sort of WAVX's thing--providing a stream of ongoing revenue with little cost associated with the hardware... a la phone companies of old.

Still think we're gonna end up in a lot of AOL stuff... through the RBOCs...

(Now if we could just get Kate Bush to be the first Wave-enabled mega-star... Never heard of Kate Bush? Shame on you...)

Best Regards,

c m
