rrman, It is not that I disagree that there can be an averted gaze, but I do not think that they would have failed to have eased the misery of European Jewry had they understood how bad things were, and how urgent it was to act. On the Embassy, I am reserving judgment, but I am disturbed... By reprinting in the manner that you did, you are offering it as credible. I don't see how it comports with the overall conduct of the war, or the massive U.S. aid efforts that went on in its aftermath, which is why I got exasperated. I like you, and don't mean to be offensive, but it was a pretty bad smear on a pretty thin basis.... I have had friends in the Peace Corps around the world. Think of them, and those that followed them...
