uniView Technologies Now Offers High-Speed ADSL Service
Agreement with Southwestern Bell Meets Customer Demand for Additional Bandwidth and Speed

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 12, 1999--uniView Technologies Corp. (Nasdaq:UVEW - news) has been named by Southwestern Bell to deliver high-speed asymmetrical digital subscriber line (ADSL) service in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Beginning today, uniView now offers ADSL connections under various plans tiered to meet the needs of broadband customers.

This offering supports the company's advanced end-to-end solutions business model by delivering superior bandwidth capabilities. uniView will coordinate the verification, installation and connection of ADSL service to deliver a seamless process for its customers. Equipment and installation costs are available on the uniView web site at www.uniview.net.

''By adding ADSL to our services and product offerings, uniView has extended our capabilities to further complement our business model,'' said Tom O'Mara, vice president sales and marketing of uniView Technologies Corp. ''Our customers in the Metroplex will immediately experience the benefits of ADSL, which includes cost efficiencies and speeds up to 200 times faster.''

Standard ADSL technology uses regular phone lines to provide speed options which start at a minimum connection speed of 384 Kbps downstream (to the home or remote location) which can in many cases reach up to 1.5 megabits per second - 50 times faster than today's common 28.8 kilobits per second (Kbps) analog modems - and upstream connection speeds of 128 kilobits per second. (Downstream throughput speeds will vary depending on the customer's distance from the central office and other factors, but the downstream connection speed will be at a minimum of 384 Kbps.)

Dallas-based uniView Technologies is the nation's only IT consultant that offers the expertise and innovative tools necessary to create fully customized interactive and e-commerce solutions. Building on a foundation rooted in convergence technology and a deep understanding of business operations and the end user, uniView merges proprietary and partner Internet access technologies with existing applications to deliver the future of interactive networking products and services.

In 1997, uniView introduced its first revolutionary set top box and, today, its Advanced Systems Group (ASG) uses convergence devices and integration expertise to design custom networks for clients in multi-level marketing, hospitality, utilities, banking, and telecommunications. In addition to complete IT consulting, ASG also offers Web site development and hosting, and full Internet service, while uniView's Product Group focuses on research, product development and customer service.
