David: The launch business is very fluid. I think they have come to see that to give a date 5 months in advance only opens them up to (your) criticism when things slip to the right. There are bunches of factors beyond the company's control (as we have been living through these past years) which impact the launch date. IMO setting a launch day more than 2 weeks in advance is counter productive. That said, one must admit that Bernie is notorious for delivering on the last day of any quoted period: spring 99 means the first day of summer! Jeff Vayda
