K: Atlanta Fed reported surge in April prices. biz.yahoo.com ...The prices-received index jumped back into positive territory and was at its highest level since July 1997,'' the Atlanta Fed pointed out. The prices received component of the Atlanta Fed index shot up to 6.8 in April versus minus-5.6 in March and 1.1 in February. That index had fallen to minus-17.2 last November, close to the height of the global financial crisis. ''The prices-paid index also turned positive, reaching its highest level since January 1998,'' the Atlanta Fed added, while noting that reports of rising prices were not yet broad-based as ''about two-thirds of the respondents reported no change in prices.''...
