Thanks for the "bad" news. About what most of us thought was going on. Such situation should be "fixed" if and when financial help arrives....hope JackH is correct. I think that RE has gone about things about the best way he could. Solve the legal problems, continue development of EB. Now, get some additional backing, increase marketing, decrease overhead where possible..hope for some new EB sites. Then, more interest in the company, and a buy out by Gates.

Speaking of Bill Gates, I note that Microsoft has a new BackOffice product that allows some document management. Wonder which software is involved...or is it Microsoft's own. Altris would certainly make a nice fit...wishful thinking.

Jack,

Thanks for the information -- it is consistent with what we have been hearing, however, ALTS has been given extensions on their notes with UK banks (till 2000.) The reason, as been explained to me, is that ALTS has/is negotiating an agreement with a UK-based VAR/Distributor.

Such an agreement will infuse cash to ALTS by way of selling the exclusive (or nearly exclusive) rights of ALTS products in the UK and maybe all of non-USA distribution to this VAR. A quick look at ALTS current customer list will reveal that about 80% of it is UK-based -- so the value should not be underestimated. This will give these customers the assurance they need for product upgrade/support & ultimate product(s) viability.

In addition, ALTS will likely consolidate (nearly close) down the existing UK operations. Likely having the VAR acquire some of the useful R&D/Support staff for EB etc... They are sure to probably maintain a London office with maybe a half dozen employees for strategic purposes, possibly keeping Tanna on as an advisor (Arghhh!)

In so doing they will concentrate on USA sales & service. They don't have the capacity to handle two major offices at present and Roger is an American, as such,I imagine he would want to keep the focus/controls here in San Diego.

Now, having said all of that; this does not preclude the outside possibility of Solution 6, Hummingbird, Open Text (or some other firm) from simply paying us all $3.00/$4.00 a share to grab a quick installed chunk of what would take several months (possibly years) for them to develop on their own.
