Well, to be honest with you, I have no idea what our Frame Relay costs. It is paid for by the company. However, I can tell you that our long distance and local combined always exceeds $150 a month. So for the $150 for 1500 minutes and $15 for the add-a-phone option, my wife and I both have mobile phones that we can carry with us anywhere. To do the analysis, we just looked at our average cost per month for phone bills (from Quicken) for the last 12 months, and saw that it was above $150 (can't remember exactly what it was). Then we decided to get rid of the local lines, since we don't need them for Internet connections anyway.

As far as one cheap line paying for itself, I'm not sure how. One cheap line cost me minimum $20 per month. If I never use it, why would I need it?

One thing I am looking at right now is switching to ADSL because my FR is too slow. But I wonder if ADSL requires a line. Does anyone here know? If that's the case, I might just get a cable modem instead.
