Chris, Hard stuff is the futures. I don't use full leverage on the contracts. That is not investing, it is gambling. My contracts tend to run from fully capitalized to about 40%. I also sometimes use the half sized exchanges. On spreads, I usually have at least double the minimum margin. I use options on gold and silver, but haven't on pallidium or platinum as they are on kind of odd exchanges. I do think futures options, especially bond options, are the best deals around. Very cheap, IMHO.

I use a full service brokerage firm that is also a commodity player. You can do the same stuff with a futures discounter, but not with a discount stock broker. I have never used the futures discounters, so I don't know how they are.
