Yes, I know of several oil companies that have completed all of their
Y2K work and are compliant and ready. The key element is that they have to assume that all of their vendors, suppliers, distributers, utility companies etc will be ready. If they are not ready. We'll have a problem but the company will have addressed it's side of the situation.

the washington Post had an article that pointed out the the US military had falsified reports saying that they had Y2K tested missiles with nuclear warheads. They had not tested them and were just going to blow it off.

The Russians have pulled out of a joint program with the US to verify that the Russian arsenal is Y2K compliant.

They ceased cooperation with the US over Kosovo

Since this is a one time deal and not like a yearly tax filing, why bother to worry about what you can not affect.
