I agree in one sense, that the deal will be good for T. If T controls 60% of cable, do you really think T needs AOL that badly? It has been well stated that T made hints to a deal with AOL to keep Feds away from the UMG merger. Of course T will take AOL's fees to lease cable lines. They will also take fees from MSPG, etc. That is their whole goal. They know that AOL and the others have to deal with them if T-UMG is approved. Did AOL have to bargain with T before UMG? Not that I know of.

I hope the T-UMG is not approved. However if it is, AOL will have to deal with T if it wants any part of cable. If they don't deal with T, they won't have cable and they will lose mkt share. Case is well aware of this and is watching the Feds closely to see his next move.
