No link, but about three weeks ago some big Wall Street broker went public with "fool-proof" way to make money on IPO backdoors. My belief is that underwriters of upcoming IPO's became determined to fight back against short-term traders (like us) doing whatver they can to discourage us. Their motives? Making more money by hogging cheaper shares for themselves, control over volotility, defeating traders' option plays. Put they'll eventually need traders' money to increase the value of their shares. All I really know is there's more to this game than what meets the eye. And bottomline, they do plan to make a lot of money off BKS stock, as well as BNBN. I have heard of these games being played with or without the company's collusion too. For instance, Company X (or analyst) puts out a press release saying they're unsure about future growth being sustainable, or a downgrade. Stock plummets 30% getting rid of the traders. Then miraculously the stock bounces back 50% over the next few weeks. (BEBE a recent example, WFMI another). If you don't think there's manipulation why do downgrades always come AFTER a stock as plummeted (like CPQ, etc.) and that firm has sold its shares or shorted? Think they'd downgrade while they're still holding? Or upgrade after they've sold? I know some brokers and they're the last people in the world who like to lose money. Then the upgrades, once they're holding cheap shares. It's all a game. You have to learn to read between the lines and be cautiously contrarian. Another run-up at day's end as they release the stock? Maybe they are waiting until a certain date before they buy in low then release news and watch their shares go up 30-50% in a few days. That day could come at any time. Bet on it and don't be scared off by these little drops. Those who are selling may just be trying to pick your pockets and keep the real run-up to themselves. Arguments anyone? Think Gordon Gecko was just a fictional character? Oliver Stone did his research believe me, I just read his bio and he based Gecko after 5-6 different Wall Street tycoons he interviewed. They don't always win but they sure as hell use their lverage to try and control the game. Yes IT IS A CONSPIRACY!
