Optimark must be a real winner, someone should have told Dow Jones, they have been selling off their 8% interest in Optimark,

I'm sure you know that Fred Rittereiser was the chief operating officer of Instinet when it was converted from a floundering 10 Million dollar company into the 150 Million dollar company that Reuters acquired. Odd that Lupien does not underestimate Fred to the same extent you do. if you were correct in your analysis.

And I guess you accept Optimark's internally generated PR with less of a grain of salt that you accept ATG's. No system that generates a whopping 2 million shares a day in volume is changing anything, much less "the way Wall Street trades".

When the NYSE/PHLX deal becomes a reality, and VTS volumes make Optimark's volumes to date look small by comparison, I'm sure you'll make it a point to concede to all of us that you don't have a clue what you're talking about. You gotta laugh - based on this snippet, you conclude "ASTN is light years behind in the operating, selling and relationship game. It is a complete joke by comparison." Wow. If this is the quality of your DD, then you are the one who is "light years behind".

I'm not a seller, Auric - and I am up over 200% at this point. I don't ley a 3/8 drop get me down -- don't let the price spikes to come get you down.

By the way, what do you think is holding up Optimark's IPO?? Maybe you should read between the lines rather than accepting PR at face value.

Moronic Brownfinger...it's well known by those of us in the business that Optimark system DOES NOT work as intended...it operates poorly at best yet still generates almost 2 million shares a day in volume...at this point I believe ASTN has already signed contracts with more counterparties than are already using Optimark.....and ASTN has not even thrown the switch to start operating...I think Optimark failure had a lot to do with the long delay ASTN experienced in getting SEC approval...this system (VWAP) was tested forwards backwards and every which way imaginable and THEN it got approval....close to 100 interested parties already signed on BEFORE VWAP has even begun....this system will come out of the starting gate with a huge following already, and do MORE volume on the first day than Optimark has done on their best day...but hey? why listen to me!....wait 'till July 1 and get your doors blown off!......me? I will be on a yacht in the Carribean come September...Ciaooooooo baby........;^)

P.S. Markets getting roiled this week, lots of stocks getting banged up badly, but ASTN hanging tough at 11.....doesn't seem to be much to squeeze out of the downside....did I say squeeze? Ooops . Thats what I expect to happen next week when things start to bounce back a bit, since ASTN could not break support, the squeeze should be big....next piece of news gets it above 14 and then you will see 20 in a flash.......or maybe you will have fainted by then and not be able to see it?
