Not sure when the news came out, but the current Nintendo uses RDRAM (MEMORY: RAMBUS D-RAM 36Mb). Check out this link for the Nintendo64 specs: nintendo.com

It is a virtual certainty that the new Nintendo that is going to be built in collaboration with Matsushita will incorporate RDRAM as well. Rambus simply has the fastest transfer speeds, so they have to use it to build the fastest graphics rendering engines.
