Pay me ten million and I'd have a team put together in two weeks!

Exactly. The financial engineering has gotten way ahead of the technical engineering with these guys.

That's why I can't go long. There is a risk of surprises in the next few months from technical folks like Glenn mentioned that can turn companies like AMZN upside down unless they have more than name recognition and web presence. Two guys in a garage can turn AMZN into a pumpkin a lot faster than MSFT. You're a software guy so you know there are issues in the internet space that go waaay beyond anything being done today for the user that will blow these guys away if they don't implement.

This fear is what is driving Bezos to pay unbelievable price, because he is not any kind of software engineer and doesn't know what to buy. But that can only go on so long, even with scrip. The only thing he can do now is buy something that gets some respect, or muddle through the middle ground and grow as fast as possible on a breakeven basis. Do you think that's likely ?

If they can breakeven and grow 30% it would be worth paying attention to. Meanwhile, better to invest in the guys in the garage.
