OT*OT* Aloha Frank, It was a terrible tragedy. Happened on Mother's Day, at one of the most beautiful spots on Oahu, a place called Sacred Falls. A 2 1/2 mile easy walk to a crystaline pool at the base of a lushly vegetated 80 foot water fall. A favorite swimming and sunning area of both residents and tourists. The falls emerges from the lower portion of a fairly steep narrow valley. Have been there many times and there are few more beautiful spots on earth.

Without warning, a small rock slide began near the top of the valley and swiftly became a full on landslide, raining car sized boulders onto the several dozen people in and around the pool. The toll is now 7 known dead, including 5 children, 1 missing and presumed dead, 12 still hospitalized and many more treated and released.

As far as anyone call tell, this was probably not preventable, short of closing the park permanently. Simply a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Be here now.

When you decide to come, by all means let me know, I take special pleasure in showing folks our Hawaii Nei (rhymes with lei!). I think we can managed to get you both Lei'd)<VBG> Aloha
