Unfortunately, even though it is a local matter, I'd like to know the last time you voted on the topic. I know I haven't. It may be true that this would get voted down in some areas. But only because the evidence of its costs would be (and always are) suppressed. It's like immigration. Open immigration would advance our economy exponentially. The costs of closing the borders, and maintaining quotas (which are managed by Kennedy to benefit us Irish), are not well known. Should people see the real cost/benefit analysis, it is unlikely we would have an INS to "protect" our interests.
