Well, this short squeeze discussion thing is getting semantical.

My definition of a short squeeze is the aforementioned 'more shares shorted than in the float' which means that the shorts can not cover at any price.

The other definition is just part of the daily battle and I don't think a true short squeeze.

Really, I don,t think taking (or protecting) profits is a difficult concept, whether you are short or long. Sort of a self interest thing, and really not hard to understand...
